About Us
Bora Vida was started by 3 friends in Tahiti in 2021 after recognizing that our passion and expertise could create the best sailing trips on the planet.
That’s still our mission today. We want to create the best vacation you’ve ever had.
Our Team
Our team spans 3 continents. We speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian. We’re sailors, maritime lawyers, entrepreneurs, chefs, and engineers. Most of all, we’re passionate, friendly, and personable. Our rule of thumb is that our captains are someone you’d want to sit next to at a dinner party or have over at a BBQ in your backyard.
Maria
Head of Operations
Maria’s love for sailing began at 18, and over the past 13 years, she has explored the world’s waters across all five continents. As both a seasoned maritime lawyer and an avid traveler, she has explored diverse cultures while navigating some of the most stunning waters around the world. Her warm, thoughtful approach and deep respect for the ocean have made her a favorite among those who sail with her. She splits her time between managing sailing trips and practising maritime law, bringing a unique blend of professionalism and adventure to every journey.
Now living in the stunning islands of Spain, Maria has sailed thousands of nautical miles, with her favorite destinations including the hidden gems of Panama, the breathtaking beauty of French Polynesia, and the vibrant shores of Ibiza. Her clients appreciate her warm, intuitive nature, always knowing exactly what they need to make their trip unforgettable.

Marco Nigris
Marco is a high-functioning pirate, and water and wind are his natural habitat. Argentian and Italian, but living in Portugal he’s sailed thousands of miles at sea in the Atlantic, Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Pacific (and kiteboarded worldwide too). His crews describe him as “a team player”, “relaxing vibes”, “a great teacher” and “passionate about the wind and water.”
He currently owns a sailboat in Ibiza and charters it on the side.

Michael Youngblood
Michael Youngblood has been sailing for 20 years—he’s also an avid traveler (60+ countries to date), entrepreneur (founder of www.beunsettled.co), and bookworm. His personality has been desccribed by his passengers as “even keeled”, “easy going”, “caretaker”, and “calm and confident under pressure”.
Michael has given a TED talk about finding his purpose while sailing and has been recognized by the United Nations, the NYT’s, Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur Magazine, Forbes, Outside Magazine, and other outlets as a leader in the travel industry.
He’s sailed over 20,000 nautical miles in the U.S. The BVIs, The Bahamas, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Greece, Thailand, Tahiti, across the Pacific Ocean and many places in between. His favorite destinations include The BVIs, The Bahamas, and Tahiti.
